OPEN ARCHITECTURE CHALLENGE 2009

According to the World Bank, educating all children worldwide will require the construction of 10 million new classrooms in more than 100 countries by 2015. At the same time, millions of existing classrooms are in serious need of repair and refurbishment. Architecture for Humanity invites you to take part in the Open Architecture Challenge 2009. You will get a chance to work with students and teachers to design the classroom of the future for a school of your choosing. Your design should address the unique challenges your school faces in trying to provide smart, safe and sustainable learning spaces.

USED MATTRESSES

This might be a last minute call, but if you have some good ideas of what to do with used mattresses then join Architecture for Humanity's Discarded Dreams Competition. The deadline is the 5th of December, and AFH is asking: Why are our mattresses being abandoned in dumps and left to the seagulls? Every year in the U.S. 40 million mattresses get thrown in the trash. Don’t our mattresses deserve another chance?

SHOW US SOME LOVE

The Architecture Sans Frontières UK is reaching out to everyone in order to get people to design t-shirts. The t-shirt is supposed to create awareness about ASF and their work, and the final submission date is the 21st of November. So, if you have some spare time and creativity, show our friends in London some love.
